USB sound card with XLR... redux
« on: May 28, 2011, 07:24:20 AM »

Thought I would open a new thread as the last one turned left.
Bought one of the Peavy units ($55 CDN) and tried it out on a show.
Sounded quite acceptable playing back WAV files from a laptop.
I would not think these are suitable for high end recording or broadcast but for the majority of the shows I do, I'm very pleased.
Tested the distortion using a Minilyzer (not the best...I know...) and came out with .02% with a 1K sine.
The transformers are not all that large but then they do not have to handle +4 levels.
All in all a very acceptable product at a great price.
Did I mention...$55  :)

I'm having an "inept with Google" moment: what's the model number (link?) for the Peavey?
