Labor in Houston TX Recommendations
« on: May 16, 2011, 04:39:08 PM »

Howdy All,

Got a small corporate AV tour that is making a stop in Houston, TX next week and looking for recommendations for a labor source for just a few general clean cut AV hands for a day to supplement my traveling crew for a quick load in.

Gotta stay non union with this client and looking for a better option than in house AV.

Let me know if anyone has any solid leads they have worked with.

Thanks,

Shawn

Non-union?  A requirement?  Damn, I couldn't do your job for your client.  Sounds "Pauline" to me...

Hey if you need a hand for just a gig I am willing to work. Used to own my own crew in College (Currently 22, working in Houston as an Engineer) and also used to work here for a couple years....http://www.housing.purdue.edu/HTML/HallOfMusic/

I also LD'd at some very high end clubs in MPLS for a while.

Yeah Tim,

Usually I have no problem bringing in IA, and often do.

...lets just say far right wing political client!

Tim I know you are die hard union, and I don't want to start any arguments here, but In Houston you are Waaaay better off not using union labor. The union hands I have used over the last 18 years have had less skill than the typical labor-ready temp.

Again, I don't want to come off as anti-union. Just an observation from my part of the world.....

Try Immediate Connections. We use them frequently to help load, set, and strike our corporate events around the country. Just be sure to include "clean cut" and/or your dress code in your request. The rate is nice as well.
