If you don't need to run lower than 4ohms per channel the GX-5 is very cost-effective, and also consider the new GX-7. If you want more power the PV's and the Xti's are both good buys. I've been using the PV 4000's for subs at my house gig for a year now, and absolutely rock-solid. Of all the amps mentioned I've had more issued with Crest, but even those were few.

I am looking for a new amp for monitors.
Monitors are MRX512m.
Stage volume is not too loud at all.

Looking at QSC GX5 or Peavey ipr 3000.

Give me your opinions.

We have 2 XTI4000s in a 6 space rack for when we need two additional monitor mixes. I'm really pleased with them in that role. I love the fact that its easy to handle two in a case without wheels. We sometimes use them for a small rig of 2 SRX712s over 2 - 15" subs but they aren't my 1st choice for sub duty.

Subs are EV Eliminator KW 2x18. Running off a qsc 3102 in stereo. Changing the drivers over to peavey low riders.
I need to research the CA9 and see if it will fit. Would like not to pack the weight if at all possible...but if it works better for sound and performance it might be the way to go for me.

I think the qsc1804 would be great for monitors, just haven't found a deal yet.

The XTI's have processing that will make your monitors a LOT more friendly...if you don't have processing already!

Is weight an issue? Budget?
I use PLX1804s on my B rig. Nice and light.
I use PLX3402s on the A rig. Good power but heavy.

Oh yeah you're right...the PLX3402s are soooooo heavy :-/ Are you serious? I remember racks of Crest 8001/9001s

-Josh
Well, heavy compared to the 1804 - lol
