Paint for Speaker Horns?
« on: May 21, 2011, 05:37:35 AM »

I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for paint to paint the insides of TFL760s white or silver/grey(like funktion-one tops).

I was thinking perhaps some kind of high quality spray paint for easy application,
Any suggestions?

Thanks

Be sure to remove the driver first (especially the HF).

Be sure that the horns are clean (no dust-oil etc).

A light sanding with fine grit sandpaper will help the paint stick.

Use whatever decent quality paint you desire.  Stay away from the dollar cans.

Pay attention to the dry/recoat times.

Just basic stuff.

I used to paint mine all the time-with very little problems.

Wow! I see some Karlsons subs and what might be some Peavey fh2s. Some Heils or are those Goalihons? ( Spelling may be off ) Bunch of scoops.
Enough there to give a dsp and Smaart a heart attack!
I remember those Karlsons brand of speakers. My grandfather had a full range set for his stereo.
Nice to see them and bring back those memories.

The Karlsons were made by Maryland sound.  The LARGE bass bins in the middle were Altec.  The horn flares were JBL-EV-dB Sound and Emilar.

I built everything else.  Yes I copied the Heil color scheme.  I liked it.  It also made my system stand out from the competition.  People wold remember me-good or bad.
