Just like the title implies. I need a cheap company near Columbus Ohio I can drop of a blown JBL Mpro 418 driver to be reconed.

I tried a kit from ebay and it is nowhere near as good as the OEM, probably my fault.

thanks

John

Cheap won't enter into the equation if you want genuine factory parts and trained service.

"Cheap" and "JBL" rarely turn up in the same sentence...

thank you for the replies!

I found the going rate for the recones + service is around $240..just for others references!

Need to seriously consider if the subs are worth saving at this point having only paid $600 for a pair

Cheap and JBL......I realize this is laughable and for good reason....I may have to find new subs soon but the thought of looking for the holy grail again sickens me.

Thanks

John
Did you pay 600 for the pair NEW or used.  If used, then that is not really a judge to go by.

When you get them reconed with a real JBL kit, the drivers will be like new (at least performance wise).  So they may be better than when you bought them (if you bought them used).

I payed a LOT less than that for my 2226 recones last summer.  About $100.00 less!   Did you check out the link I gave you?

Not a chance in hell those are genuine JBL parts used to re-cone those... the KITS are more than that last I checked...

Well, the OP asked for cheap!  I asked them about the parts and they said that they had sources to obtain the same parts that JBL uses for their recones.  I don't know, but the results were excellent and they give you a 1 year guarantee!

The parts may "look" the same-but there are differences.  JBL "makes" their own wire-I really doubt they sell it for others to use in aftermarket recone kits-as just one example.  IS the cone the same weight? strength?  What about the suround and spider?  Do they have the same stiffness?  Is the leadin wire the same quality?  and so forth.

No doubt they worked.  And does the 1 year guarantee insure you of the same performance specs as the origional?  Or just that it will work for a year?
