LSS Laboratories CS-1200 Lighting Console 1970's?
« on: May 14, 2011, 05:23:10 pm »

Here's one for the older LD's on the forum. Looking for information on who or what company LSS is or was. The console I have seems to have what must have been one of the first sequencers for club consoles. I am guessing it is from the late 70's/ early 80's and everything about this console and dimmer rack Model LSS Labs LC-4a seems as if it were top of the line/ state of the art back then. In fact, the only reference I could find for the dimmers was an eBay auction where they had just reduced the price of the pak from 1500.00 to 995.00. Seems a bit steep to me
If anyone remembers this console or had one, I will be looking for some parts, which means I will  be looking in some dark corner of some back room in a very old repair shop or garage for obsolete parts.
Please pm me(if that is allowed), if you have any information on this console or company, like a manual. A quick search of the internet did not turn up much information.

some pics would help jog my memory, but I believe these were LiteLab products? The company still exists, but they do not show any connection to the older products.

Here is your picture. I also found a link to a company called:
Lightcraft/LSS Laboratories, Inc.  but the link is dead and there was no response at the phone number listed. That info is listed here:

LSS LABORATORIES* Lightcraft PO Box 1670, Center Harbor, NH 03226 [telephone]800-634-5227 603-253-7217 FAX: 603-253-7213 Contact: Mark Bartram Hours: 9:00AM - 5:00PM, Mon - Fri Manufacturer of lighting control and dimming systems. No rental.
I am guessing that this is old information as the list I found this information on  was last updated under the Theatrical/ stage lighting category on June 1, 1995

I tried calling the numbers listed in my previous post and none of these numbers is active for LSS or Lightcraft.
At this point I expect that neither of these companies is still in existence. I am hoping that someone will have saved a copy of their manuals for this controller and paks and will share it. If anyone has suggestion on another forum that my more directly relate to obsolete controllers, I would appreciate it. Thanks
