MIDI Foot Controller
« on: April 28, 2011, 12:48:33 pm »

Anyone have any experience with the Tech 21 MIDI Moose floor pedal?  Any other suggestions for a similarly priced (non-Behringer) MIDI foot controller for some simple chase changes?  My DMX controller will only do six chases, so I'm not going to be doing a patch for each song.

Also, it has to be operable by a front man  ;D

Thanks!

These are the ones we looked at before we decided to go to a hand controlled button farm on a stand.

Voodoo Lab Ground control (although it may be bigger and more expensive than what you want)

Rocktrom midi mate (smaller and cheaper)

Thanks Steve.  Which button farm do you use?

Currently using the Novation LaunchPad.  Inexpensive.  Fairly small.  Light.  Powered by USB (no wall wart/power plug)
I have 72 buttons that trigger 72 different scenes/sequences.

Loaded their USB driver and the Automap software, and it works fine with Elation Compu-Live 192
Did not have to load Ableton Live to make it work.

Now all I need is 14 more movers some truss and a roadie!

If you only need 12 or less buttons and can live with a hand controlled button farm, look into the Korg Nano Pad.
http://www.amazon.com/Korg-nanoPAD-Drum-Controller-Black/dp/B001J8EZ4Y

It's really small, you can velcro it to a mic stand or music stand.
I have one and it works great.  USB powered so only one cord, no wall wart.  And it's cheap as dirt.
The korg mapping software works well and I understood it without looking at any instructions.
