Calibration is a valuable process for determining differences between channels or problems in the mixer. That's the only value in this particular test I would really see. If I had the mixer on the repair bench, I would certainly perform this test for every input, and its not a bad thing to do with every mixer every few months, but hardly a requirement for starting a mix.
