STX 835
« on: February 26, 2013, 02:52:00 PM »

To keep it short and sweet I just did 4 shows with the new JBL STX 835 and its awsome.  -4.5 db at 800 with a q of .54 and a nerrow notch at 10k with a roll off at 80htz and this box was kicking some butt.  Powered by a plx 3602 I had no problem getting this to wake up. If you were thinking about a kf 650z think no more, Jbl has answered.

I have to disagree with ya there.. The EAW box is still better sounding IMO - especially with the UX8800

They are talking extream processing to correct for unwanted box overtones in the H/F to "smooth" out the box.  Its a novel idea and I agree that it works but between the 4k processor, the 4k in kf650z and Triamping the box its alot to get to a level I feel the stx 835 is. Im not a salesman, just trying to let people know my take on the box.  Its all about what you like I guess in the end.

If you paid $4k for a UX8800, you need to find a new dealer.

I am glad people seem to be liking the new STX stuff.  Initial spec sheet reactions were disappointing.

Yes I have, It reminds me of the 712 only a smaller footprint. Juice it up right and with a little eq it makes a wonderfull monitor.
