I'm continuing my investigations on how to free up some space on our little (but extremely portable) Mackie CFX-12. My latest big idea is to run our 3 wireless mics (which wouldn't require monitor support) into a cheap little mixer like this:
http://bit.ly/18R92Hand then run that into one of the (seldom used) stereo channels on the Mackie. The problem now is that we only have an 8 channel snake. I'm wondering if there is anything available in the way of a 100' 4 channel snake with no returns. I've searched around a bunch but haven't found anything. Does this sort of thing even exist? My alternative would be to get something like this:

but that will immediately add ~$500 to a project I'm trying to keep rather inexpensive. We would definitely grow into a bigger snake, so it's still an option.
While I'm at it, can I assume that it would be a bad idea to just not use a snake and place the wireless receivers back at the sound booth, which is maybe 50' away from the stage with bodies in between?
