A bit of celebration
« on: February 19, 2008, 01:00:13 pm »

Just had to share. After 20-some years of pieceing together new equipment with the last real install (1985, seriously?!!!), tonight I begin work on firmware updates and default programming for a new LS9/32 which is to be followed shortly by a new rack of QSC amps (currently in shipping).

Eventually the system will contain:

-Yamaha LS9/32
-DBX Driverack or XTA Processing (budget will decide)
-QSC Power
-4 new channels of Shure UHFR (HHBeta87/BP Combos) to supplement 2 Current UHF BPs.
-At least 8 Aviom stations
-Augmented mic arsenal. SM86s, KSM109s, Radial DIs, e6s, etc. We've got a Shure employee on our audio team, don't tell him the shotguns are Sennheiser!
-Brand new Gepco wiring infrastructure
-Existing MacPherson PA (M2X tops, Scholar 118 Subs)
-Whirlwind sub-snakes

Best part of the project, we're doing everything but system tuning with volunteer labor... probably saving a good $20k. Smile

This is my home church, so even though I've done dozens of installs, this one's a little sweeter on the pallette. Pictures to follow.

There really is very little we can experience (other than obvious things relating to God and family) that beats being able to equip a new system or upgrade an existing system in significant and beneficial ways. Especially one you have "owned" for so long.

So I can relate to your joy.

Let us know how it all comes together.

Congrats, sounds like you'll have fun!

My home church (in the US) built new building in 2001, so that was the first 'real' system (read: with a budget) the church had in 30 years.

What a blast it was to treat the congregation to it's first professional sound!

Have fun!
