As previously stated, there are advantages and disadvantages to flying a subwoofer system. Therefore, every project must be considered on a case by case basis. I'll just add one more advantage to flying the subs. Time alignment, in most cases,  will be off as much as 30ms even with delay compensation. The delay between the FOH array and a floor sub system will vary depending on the position of the listener.
