MediaShout & Vista
« on: October 16, 2007, 08:59:03 PM »

My church is currently using a previous MediaShout program with XP Home and we're having a few glitches like lyrics locking up. Someone in the church purchased a new HP with Vista and suggested the latest MediaShout upgrade.

Any feedback on pros and cons of the latest MediaShout and operation of MS in general with Vista?

Ira,

It is always a good day when new equipment is donated.

My church is running multi-screen setup off 2 computers with Media Shout version 3.2.  Media Shout has a great customer support community, and regularly releases patches and updates to their software. Both of our computers are running Windows XP, and we haven't had any trouble during a service in a VERY long time.  I believe that media shout 3.2 has been compatible with Vista since April or May of this year, but I personally have not run it on Visat.

You might want to visit the Media Shout User Fourm. Software Engineers and Tech Support reps of Media Shout visit and post on the forum on a regular basis.

One thing I found with Media Shout is it almost seems to be a work-in-progress. You really need to keep up to date with their updates. Glitches like you describe are usually fixed within various patches, and they seem to sometimes add features this way also. X2 on the MS user forum its very good.
