Was curious today, so I pull out the meter and found that a TT cannot short the tip and ring once the sleeve is inserted. You can short the tip to ring, but as soon as the sleeve is inserted because the tip and ring are smaller diameter, it is impossible to short these to the sleeve. If the patch cord is not inserted all the way, it's not a problem. You can send signal from the tip to the PP ring connection with a slightly incomplete connection.

I prefer the TT since there is no other cord that can be used as a patch cable. Never had an issue with reliability or performance.

Prefer Bittree programmable panels with the E3 crimps. Little pricey but worth it.  Smile
