Bride wants to rent a generator to power a keyboard and powered speaker

(1/4) > >>

Dan Cray:
Hello,
Hoping to get some advice here as I have no idea about generators!  I've been contracted to play piano for a wedding, and against all advice they really want to do the ceremony in the woods with no power and have me play keyboard.  They're offering to rent this generator:  https://www.campingworld.com/honda-eu2200i-49-state-inverter-generator-with-co-minder-124610.html?utm_source=google&utm_medium=cpc&utm_campaign=%7BCampaign%7D&cq_cmp=20508292755&cq_con=&cq_term=&cq_plac=&cq_net=x&cq_plt=gp&gad_source=1&gclsrc=aw.ds

I have a QSC K8 and a Viscount Legend 70s keyboard.  As far as I know, there won't be anything else plugged in.  Any advice or recommendations would be much appreciated!

Thanks,
Dan

Sorry, didn't realize.  Should be updated now, thanks.

You won't be able to get a generator far enough away that it won't be a nuisance. Go for a "Jackery" or similar battery pack.  They'll run your rig for many hours completely silently.

Mike Caldwell:
At an event I do they supply me with the same generator for a remote paging system zone.
It would run your keyboard and speaker just fine even on econo mode that is a little quieter.

While that Honda is really quite it would need to be about a 150 feet away so you would not even hear the purrrr that it makes.
The battery pack idea would be perfect.
