The unit is now ready for field use. It is fully self contained and can also be used to run SMAART or other tools. There is room to embed a small audio interface, Dante converter, or similar device if you wanted.

I plan to build a small number of these for anyone interested (I already have some requests). If you are interested, please PM me.

Nice!

I have put together a similar rig using an X-Touch and X-touch Extender for 16ch+master.
I have configured buttons to do custom things the way I like and to solve workflow problems I've encountered on previous gigs.

My question is,
I am flying out to meet the band, they have an SQ-5 and I built all my settings at home using the SQ "offline" mode in Mixing station.
(-I use this rig all the time for my X/M32 stuff but don't actually have an SQ to connect to)
How do I connect to their mixer but still retain my midi configuration for the X-Touches? -and without wiping any of their settings? (they use higher channels for their ears)
I have my offline configuration saved locally, but copied to the online "community" as well as on a USB stick.
I haven't made any actual mixer settings (EQ, naming, grouping routing etc..) with hopes I can pull that from their mixer but then still use my midi and layer configurations without having to re-author on-site  -it may be rushed as it's a festival and they are flying in too from another direction so could arrive last minute.

Any input for this would ease my mind a bit.  And yes I did try google but not much luck there.  If there's a Mixing Station forum somewhere it doesn't seem to show up in searches.

Thanks

There's a cheap Digidesign control24 for sale close to me. I'm kinda tempted to run it with Mixing station! hahaha. A full size, wireless experience!

Thanks, not really often on any of those platforms -other than encountering a lot of reddit posts with no definite answers (high signal-to-noise)
-this forum spoils oneself with hopes that there's others like it.

For clarity on this as I've never worked with this controler. M32 on stage connect to a router, Laptop at FOH running Mixing Station Pro wireless or wired with cat going to the laptop at FOH from the router. USB out of laptop to add the waves controler with it setup properly for Mixing Station and you'd be good to go? Both the Laptop and Controler can be used together af FOH? Seems like what I've been looking for.

Do you know what the Controler draws for current? I'm wondering as there may be times when I'd use a battery power supply at FOH to run the system. Music in the park kind of events.

The MixingStation Discord is reasonably active. The developer is on it regularly. It's a good place to get help and keep up to date with the ongoing evolution of the app.

Things this doesn't get you are headphone monitoring, talkback, and locally sourced playback. There are, of course, workarounds. I'd still put the M32 out front. It's pretty much the same size.

Yep. No local IO. But as stated, there are workarounds, some console dependent, some generic. Every situation is different, but there are also arguments for placing the M32 in Mon position. No stage box? Can't run Cat5 from stage to FOH or worried it might fail?
