As boburtz pointed out (and I don't know how he got away here without the username Bob Urtz), it's the GS108T that's the managed version.  The GS108 is unmanaged.

Well of course it is. Lol

Worth noting that the GS108PE v3 is the same as the 108T v2 except it has 4 ports that supply PoE.

If you were Bob Urtz you could put your name together too.  Some people are above the rules.

The MicroTik switches punch WAY above their weight…
I’ve been eyeing them up for a while but haven’t jumped yet.

Glad to hear they hold up well against other known brands.

Warning, the user interface on the Microtik is super wacky.

100% this.

I've used a couple switches and one of their routers, and it took me a while to figure out how to accomplish various things. Mostly the terminology they use is different than most other manufacturers, or the way they want you to confirm a parameter change isn't always clear, etc. Worked well once I got them set up though.

I have little to no experience with any other switch stuff, so it wasn't that bad for me. But I understand how it can be a little head scratchy :)

The MicroTik switches punch WAY above their weight [literally since they weigh like 5 ounces]. I've used this one with good results, including VLan across the internet.

I love this, if only because the power supply jack is on the same side as the ethernet jacks.

I've been using them for years so didn't seem that crazy to me.
-I felt like everyone else was missing options and details that seemed right up front with them.

Right now all my main show networks are Mikrotik routers and switches with Ruckus AP's and they have been rock solid.

I don’t do shows with big PA and comms systems anymore since I work in a corporate TV studio, but when I did I tried to stick to Luminex switches. They are bullet proof, handle PTP, come configured with standard RJ45 or Ethercon connectors and can have fiber with OpticalCon. Yes, they are expensive, but when there are million dollar shows hanging on them they are the best. GIGA CORE 10

They are available in many configurations.
