I have a chance to purchase four of these. The info other than company literature is sparse. Can anyone whos worked with thses speakers give me some insight on them. Planning on using them for basic duties. DJ's and small bands in small to medium sized venues.

While I haven't used this exact model before, I have mixed on multiple similar Renkus systems over the course of a couple years, in multiple rooms.  Overall they were good; the primary negative is the tend to have some of "that JBL sound", IE distortion.  If you can get them for a great price, if you don't expect them to be ultra rugged and durable, and if you don't expect them to be crushingly high SPL - if the price is good, go for it.  Keep in mind they are biamp only, so factor in the higher amp cost versus simply the speaker cost.

Now that was exactly what I needed to know....while its not a deal breaker its definitely info I didn't see mentioned in the company literature. But I was suprised to hear you say that it sometimes gives JBL vibes with the distortion. They are selling 4 of these for $1k total.

That's an OK price.  Add a Powersoft T604 (lows) and T304 (highs) and you're into each speaker for around $1,675.   

They are over 200# each though, and old technology.  With 90 degree horizontal horns, you're limited to one per side, unless you're outdoors and need outfills. 

Another option, 90 degree horizontal, larger format horn, loud, higher quality than the common MI options, is the RCF TT25A.  It's about double the price, but new, sounds quite good, and is only 58#.
