Which EAW Speakers are these?
« on: February 08, 2024, 10:45:06 AM »

Hello all,
Does anyone recognize these EAWs?  This is the only picture provided.  The seller is really lazy and the whole ad just says $250 each.  Does anyone know anything about these?  Seem like a good deal or should I walk away?

Thanks,
Jon

From the top of every page: "Your Displayed Name Must Be Your Real Full Name To Post In The Live Sound Forums".  Failure to do so will get you post locked.

Once you've done that, it depends on your intended use for them as to whether they're a good deal.

Oops!  Sorry, I missed that.  I fixed it, and it should be showing my name now.

Thanks,
Jon

If they don't have a model number on the input panel they might be custom builds for a venue or contractor. That was and may still be an important part of EAWs output. The lack of a phase plug on the mid bass driver is unusual for EAW tho.

It looks kind of like a KF695E but the HF horn is different and no damping "pillow", or at least it's hard to see from the photo. EAW made many custom cabinets for the install market, often they were revisions of a production model but sometimes not.

I think it's an AS660. That would be an permanent installation speaker and heavy as hell at 169lbs.  Here's data sheet for them:

Well spotted, it does indeed look like that model.
However, that file location would be on your hard drive, other people can't directly access that.
Here's the address for EAW's archived version of it though.
Cheers,
D.

Thanks for the correction.  I thought I copied that off of a web page.

EAW stuff from this era had morphed to a behind-the-grille styrofoam plug.

Depending on your browser and the way the webpage is written, it sometimes saves to your download folder then displays that in the browser, which is what I think may have happened here.

If they are anything like mine, the previous owner spray painted everything black, scratch the back panel and you'll find the information you need in the top right corner.
