Oddly enough I do have my city filled in on the location field in the profile but it doesn't appear on my posts, at least to me.

This is old, but AFAIK it still applies.

Riley,

There is a "Personal Text" field above the location field in the profile.

To save whatever you write in the personal text field, you have to hit the "change profile" button at the bottom of the profile.

Only took me about three times to get it done after reading the link in Mac's previous post  :-[

I just stuck my location down with my sig line 'cause, you know, I'm "unique"....

Reminds of the time I went to my daughters award program when she was still in elementary school and she had 3 members of her class named "Unique" and I was the only one that found that hilarious....

I usually have my location listed as SW CT. South western part of Connecticut in the USA. What I basically tried to enter after realizing that I don't have my location showing was "SW CT 46miles from Midtown Manhattan as the crow flies." But it wouldn't fit. On a clear day I used to be able to see the top of the World Trade center if I walked down to the beach near me. I saw the smoke from it on the morning of 9/11. :'(

My office shares a fence with Dorval (Montreal) Airport.  Planes were landing, 2 minutes apart, well into the night.

I wish the poster's location was automatically listed under their name.  At least their country or state.  I see lots of threads that end up being a waste because the OP is in another country.  Also, it would be nice to know who's in my neighborhood. :)
