Lightkey software conflict with Doug Fleenor

(1/1)

Ysavel Medina:
our church changed lighting control software to Lightkey App via usb on a imac and now we have intermittent problems with our Doug Fleenor wall switches not functioning. Our work around has been to: 1) shut down lightkey, restart lightkey and shutdown Lightkey again. If that doesn't work 2) unplug switches and usb cable, then reconnect switches and usb.  Between the two options, everything returns to working.  Both the imac and switches are at the start of the daisy chain. We understood with this configuration - 1) the imac should control the lights when the program was running and the switches would be inactive or 2) when the imac was off the Doug Fleenor switches would control the lights.  Most of the time 90%, this is true.  Any ideas how to get this to 100%?

The phrase "unplug switches and usb cable" makes me wonder how your daisy chain is configured. It should be usb/DMX interface to Fleenor switch 1 to Fleenor switch 2 to LED fixtures. I assume you have the Fleenor PRE10A units? If the Fleenors see DMX from the usb/DMX interface, they will continue being locked out. If you simply unplug the DMX cable from the usb/DMX interface, the Fleenors should take control. If they don't, you have probably not connected them correctly to begin with. Also, one of the Fleenors should be configured as "Slave" with the jumpers.
