I would agree 100%-use an inline GFCI and you are protected, even without a ground.

Sucky thing is if you use Crown iTech amps, GFCIs will be show stoppers. The amps will trip them every time.  Crown support says that's just how it is.

This holds true for a number of amplifiers.
Powersoft K series would never function for me with any GFCI.

no doubt due to mains noise filtering.... if there is a big enough need for a solution one could be designed, but not by me....  of course the amplifier makers could also fix the problem at the source.

Yeah, my K3s are about 50/50 at powering up when plugged into a GFCI outlet.  Unfortunately, if they trip it once, that usually means that it's a no go and I have to search for an alternative power source.  My M50q Powersoft amps do not have the issue.

And if safety was a big enough concern for enough customers the market would fix it fairly quickly.

I think that products designed and marketed to PROFESSIONAL end users might not get the treatment that consumer and pro-sumer device receive.

GFCI?  What are those, relative to my amp racks?  Nothing.  On back line power?  Absolute necessity, as those circuits are "used by personnel."
