I'm a Newby so I'm asking this as I have 3 Beamz BAC500 fixtures with remote infrared control unit. I also want to use my beamz DMX12 controller so when this is not in use and the lights switched are on in stand alone, they need to default to all white. I'm going to switch off remote on 2 lights and have first light with remote control capabilities. As they are all on address 001 for simple control of all three the same this may help the stand alone situation I read about. I'm not sure whether I need a master slave setup?
thank Nick H

Hi Nick,

The answer here is generally "no", DMX and Master/Slave setups are generally incompatible with each other.  Depending on the fixture sometimes DMX can put a unit in Sound Active mode, but I can't think of a single instance where I've come across DMX enabling Master/Slave to other DMX fixtures.  DMX control and IR remote control are also generally incompatible with each other.  The closest you'll get is a fixture going into Auto or Sound Active mode if DMX is no longer detected.  Hope this helps!

Thanks for the reply. Yes after much trying out of different scenarios I've come to the conclusion to leave the lights set to DMX control and not worry about the fact if the controller is not used there will not be any lights. All other ways I tried caused freezing, flickering, some light steady others unstable etc. when trying the remote.
