Band Manager and older XTi2 amps not connecting.
« on: April 05, 2023, 08:26:05 PM »

I stuck a couple of XTi6002 amps in a case with the foolish notion that I could just plug in band manager and set them up for the event I'm having but for the life of me I can't get them to connect. One won't do anything at all and the other pops up in band manager but I can't control anything on the amp itself.

I'm guessing this might be a firmware mismatch? But I also don't see any way to upload firmware to the amp.

Any ideas? I've used Band Manager before but it's probably been ten years ago.

Try an older version of Audio Architect, it's not as bloated as the newer versions of System Architect and works fine for the CDI, and XTI series of amps.

Will do. Thanks.

I will also take my personal PC laptop tomorrow. I was using a work issued mac with bootcamp today and I've had problems like this before.

Uh... XTi are USB connected, IIRC.

Audio Architect has a way to create a USB connection if devices are not automagically discovered.

Yes all XTi amps are USB only.

Band Manager should be able to control up to 8 of these amps at once, but as with most things Harman software related it doesn't work.

I'm about to go down and try to hook up an older (v1.96) version of audio architect and see if that works.

I'm also going to use an actual PC laptop today instead of a mac on bootcamp.

Could try System Architect as well.

I did yesterday with my mac. Didn't work. Someone above here said try the older audio architect, and a buddy of mine (Harman dealer) also said to use audio architect.

Just to provide some closure here Audio Architect V1.96 running on a Win 10 PC was able to connect, update firmware, and control these amps with no issues.

I am even doing both amps at the same time through a USB hub.

It's handy they still have all the old AUDIO Architect versions available for download.
