PRO 9 w/ DL431’s
« on: March 29, 2023, 07:11:29 AM »

Have a client, who just purchased a pair of PRO 9's with three DL431's.  I know that each desk will have its preamp on the 431, but since each unit has 72 outputs does that mean each desk will have a set of 24 outputs as well? Trying to figure out where the outputs would be coming from.

Hey Al;

The DL431 is preamps only. All the outputs are fed from the internal preamps. Designed for a time when there was more analog than digital.
The device your client should have gotten is the DL231 which also has 24 inputs and 48 preamps (one for each console) but also has 24 outputs that can be sent signals from either of the connected consoles.
