« on: March 28, 2023, 10:03:32 AM »

Anyone had any issues with the new firmware that came out March 17th?

No takers yet, eh?

This looks like one of those really annoying updates that doesn't really do anything for existing gear, other than we have to update everything because we do a lot of rentals.

Likely the updates have to do with new hardware. Many companies have had to change hardware suppliers since the pandemic and this requires firmware updates to support the new chips or circuitry, with no real change in functionality.

One thing that bit me the other day on the Shure stuff, but I don't think the latest update fixes it:
Quote
Wireless Workbench may crash when importing scan files from an AXT600 when a device or channel name has special characters in it such as “/”.
Workaround: remove special characters from the device or channel name.
Happens on imports from PSM1000 as well.

Hardware changes I can understand.  Sometimes there's a new frequency band for a specific country.

What's really annoying is when there's something like "to get everything on the same version number", which Shure does do once in a while.
