Paul Andrew:
Hello everyone ! I was directed to ask for help on this forum. So on the 30th I have an event with DJ and live, I would like you to help me limit the amplifiers in dsp so as not to destroy everything.
So anything to be at the limit I want for amplifiers. If you can help me please.
Thank you
In dsp I have Gate, Compressor, Limiter
1. Electrovoice Q44 amp
2x450w in 4 ohms. Input Sensitivity ( 0dBu 775mV)
2. Lab Gruppen Lab 1000 2 x 550 W into 4 (Sensitivity, switchable for full output into 4 ohm 0.775 or 1.8 Vrms 36 dB or 29 dB)
3. Lab gruppen lab 1600 2x 700 into 4 Ohm (
Sensitivity, switchable for full output into 4 ohm 0.775 or 1.8 Vrms 37.5 dB or 29 dB )

What are the amps powering? Hard to know what limiter settings should be when we don't know what's being driven. Don't forget HPF and LPF settings, if possible in your dsp.

Alberto Escrina:
Setting protection limiters is not a simple task even if you know what you are doing and have the tools for doing so.
Settings are band and program dependent and correct interpretation of transducer specs. and limiters behavior is a must.
My advice: because of the risk of blowing parts anyway, or that the system will not have its reasonable SPL levels, balance, etc. let somebody who has experience on the field do the job.
Believe me. I was doing it for decades and still learning every day.
Good luck.
