I have an extra one sitting around. In the manual it says that PC control and editing is only available via the usb jack, but later on they mention something about locking the settings so that they are only accessible via network.

Can you fully edit this thing over a network? If so I might have a use for it. If not I’ll probably toss it.

I have used it a couple of times via the usb port, but if you unplug your laptop it locks up all control (panel or laptop) until you power cycle the unit. That kinda sucks and I don’t want to rely on it if I can’t put it on a network.

I have one that I pulled from an install....that said....I have never used it outside of turning it on...taking pictures, and listing it for sale.... It didn't sell.  Couldn't give it away.

Yeah that seems par for the course. I will say it worked alright for a basic matrix mixer. Except for the whole “locks up if you unplug the usb thing”.

I still use one frequently as system DSP at a summer outdoor theater.  Can't get to the building it's housed in right now but I do recall running the whole season via networking with a PC in the booth.  However I can't remember if it's RS-232 with a Moxa NPort serial device server or if it's native.
But I do know the box is essentially indestructible and in worst-case situations all settings can still be made from the front panel even though it's quite a torturous process for some functions.
Used to use them live years ago as system DSP, mixer-mixers and general routing for video and record feeds and I'm sure in one of my currently snowed-in storage facilities I still have a pile of them.
