This may sound far fetched but wasn't the newest Rivage PM CSR3/R5 the replacements for the CL?

It sort of is - the PM3 isn't a big price jump up from a CL5, assuming you stay with Rio boxes instead of RPio.

Right, but Mark bought up a comparison point so I was just playing devils advocate.

Back on topic of the DM3, basically everyone is wishing it had Dugan automixing and more internal DSP processing for more i/o count. Instant buy for most people on here.

Without a doubt (for me), auto mixing is the most important thing I'd like to see on this little console.  If it had it... I'd buy it, in fact I might buy two!  Without auto mixing, I'm not interested.

We got our DM3S (USB version, Dante is going to take a little while), and it's pretty nice!  Fairly solid construction, has a nice heft to it. Overall great first impression, though maybe the buttons are a little harder to press than expected.  Faders are decent.

The "TF style" UI is a mix between the "always a button" of CL/QL and the "everything is a swipe" of the TF.  In general there's always an on-screen button for things, though there are a few places that are still a swipe. I wish the screen was a bit bigger with all those buttons, though.

I've got a corpy style show tomorrow and... still taking the TF-Rack.  We're told there's an automixer coming, but I need one *now*.

Started a new DM7 thread, as appears to be completely different concept than DM3

Mixing station is now available for the DM3. I bought the pro version, and it seems to work well. This is great now I can use an android tablet if I want.

Scott regarding the auto-mixing that might be coming, I assume that would be by virtue of a firmware upgrade?  I will be buying one in Q4 and would love to see AM by Q1 2024 at the latest.

I would like to see this. The new A&H CQ series comes with auto-mixing at a lower MAP. This will create some pressure on other vendors. QSC added automixing with their V3.0 firmware upgrade but only for their 30 ch TouchMix, not the 8 or 16 ch models.

I suspect Yamaha's issue may be cost and licensing. They had a deal with Dugan for previous mixer lines and may still have to pay royalties to him if they roll out this feature. That could rule out a free upgrade.
