Longtime friend and colleague Dave Hoover died yesterday. A lot of people have been passing on as we all get older, but it hits a lot harder when they are longtime personal friends. RIP Hoov…

Mac

Hoover was an old friend of mine as well. He was one of the account reps at the SoundCo I cut my teeth at. Learned a lot from him, including some things NOT to do. :) A truly interesting larger than life character. He will be missed.

Gary Wright of Spooky Tooth at 80

https://www.nbcnews.com/news/us-news/gary-wright-singer-1970s-hit-dream-weaver-dies-80-rcna103322

Not been a good week.  Saw him at one of the great all day concerts at the old Mile High Stadium in Denver, with Peter Frampton headlining on the "Frampton Comes Alive" tour, and opening besides Gary on his "Dream Weaver" tour were Steve Miller on the "Fly Like an Eagle" tour, and sadly Tommy Bolin, who would succumb to his demons only a couple of months later.  Epic day.

Best regards,

John

The son of a son of a sailor.

Fair winds and following seas, Jimmy.

My first show was '82. Walked into the old Poplar Creek shed for $10 on the day of the concert.  That certainly changed over the years. Sadly the sea oriented outdoor lifestyle cost him.  Wear sun protection folks. RIP Jimmy.

Best regards,

John
