Shure P4800 Alternative?

(1/1)

Jeremy Georges:
Hello Folks,

We have a new deployment and in the past we had Shure P4800 DSPs. We used the DSP for basic filtering for speech to help with articulation and notching with the PEQ to reduce Feedback for problematic frequencies. Some limiters and light compression. Steering audio to a couple different outputs to feed different PA's with different acoustic challenges. Nothing too out of the ordinary.

For this new deployment, similar needs.
Need at least 3 inputs and 4 outs. More is always nice...but not necessary.

I'm familiar with the P4800 and its worked fine; but its of course very discontinued and the software is very old. We do like having the automatic/dynamic Feedback Reducer filters that we keep enabled since we have a wide variety of volunteer operators.

Any suggestions on an alternative product for the new deployment?
Initially I was looking at the Ashly Protea 3.6SP DSP.  But I don't see the dynamic feedback filters listed as a feature. Other than that, it appears to fit the bill.
The Xilica XP-4080 looks like an option, but looking at Xilica's website it looks like this product line is slowly fading away...

Any other suggestions?

Thank you.

Jeremy

Thanks Mike for the pointer! I'll take a look at the datasheet and manual and review it.

You can also download the the control software or APP and get a good idea of how the 360 can be configured.
The iPad APP works really well.

The Venue 360 is a quiet, east to use processor, you can save different settings and recall them.  I use the processor with a set of VRX 932LA's and STX828S subwoofers.  It stores different sub arrangement form a combination of flown and ground stacks to lip and delay fills. Yesterday's demo using it with SMNP to trigger an alarm  was brilliant.
