Hi all,

I'd like to share an idea for an array processing design that aims to improve performance in the mid-low frequency ranges for distributed systems using line arrays.

Line array systems may radiate relatively strong sound energy in mid-low frequencies on the sides, where the distance from each module is the same. This feature could degrade performance especially in distributed systems. Strong radiation toward the sides can be reduced by narrowing the vertical radiation pattern using phase shift and applying it alternately to the upper and lower sides in distributed systems.

Array processing is generally applied to equalize the characteristics within a coverage area across a wide bandwidth. However, this approach controls mid-low separately from high frequencies.

While this technique may not be applicable to every situation, I believe there are instances where it can be effective. If you're interested, please check out : udokuka.com/home/articles

Thanks,
Kakudo
