RCF HDM45A ,ART 945A & NX 945A need advice for buying
« on: July 24, 2022, 05:20:14 PM »

A little about my applications as a mobile a DJ who plays small to medium events with 100+ - 300 max capacity. I play a little of everything from EDM, Hip Hop, Rock, Country, and SPANISH MUSIC. I prefer RCF sound because of their driver’s quality and dynamics of sound reproduction. I prefer a FLAT FHZ sound and like my bass quick and fast but punchy and my highs crisp and detailed. I currently own two RCF HD12mk4 tops. And one RCF 708 mkII sub. I’m currently in the military so I have lots of time before making a choice or buy. I would like to future proof my setup for when I do bigger events I have some really good speakers that provide good clear sound with lots of headroom if needed. I’m currently interested in a couple of models the HDM45A, ART 945A, NX945A. I really dig the look of the ART 945A. But I don’t know if there would be much of a sound difference between the ART9 and HDM series. My hopes to would be the NX945A when it releases. WOODEN box with NEO drivers sound likes the best of both words. I would consider myself an intermediate learner when it comes to Sound Reinforcement but need help from some experts. The easy route would be to DEMO both but do to my duty in the navy and on deployment that’s not an option.
What’s yours guys input on this?

All good choices but since your using a sub I would look at the 12 inch version of those boxes.
Maybe with some of the money saved put that towards another sub.

Sell the 8" sub and buy a some 18's, you already have some very good mid/hi boxes they just need proper lowend support. The RCF 8003 or 8004 seems like the obvious choice here and 1 wil do for starters.

The 708 sub he has is an 18 inch model, the 8000 series would be step up.

That said a single 708 sub would be struggling to keep up with a pair of any of the new top boxes that were mentioned.

LOL.. The first thing that came up when I searched the model number was the 8" two way PA cab and evidently I didn't look close enough.

In any event, I'll still don't think a 15+2 box like the ART945 would be the right kind of upgrade for a DJ, for me a 3-way system with a proper sub beats a pair of 15" boxes on stands every time.

THe NX9 series is getting the same polyuria coating as the TT+ boxes, as well. It's a much harder finish than the paint used on previous models.
