It's those jazz guys - they play too many notes, and the tube grids get clogged up with them.

Not sure why he has to "rinse", though.  Usually you can just tweak the bias to let more 8th notes through and the problem is fixed.

Simple advice I give to the Youngins.
"Point that amp at me, and you won't be in the PA, or board tapes"  8)

I'm the Jazz guy, he's a folksy boring something or other!!! ;). and I use headphones!....and amp simulators....!! Luckily I was out playing golf so I did not hear this "rinsing" session....hope he found the "trouble"......
