Lately, I've been wondering why they don't shut everything down when a storm system is approaching a big city. They cancel school busses but everyone tries to get to work. Most don't have snow tires and get stuck, they don't know how to drive in the snow, there's lots of accidents, people die and either they don't get to work or are very late. And it takes a lot longer to clear the roads cause they've all been turned into parking lots.
Close the roads, let the plows do their job and things can be back to normal the next day, maybe sooner.
I live in a small town so if we get a snowstorm, I leave 5 minutes earlier but driving in the city during a snowstorm is a nightmare.
