I’ve been able to confirm that the October Microsoft Security Update (KB5006670) causes this issue. Under the hood, IAS creates a graphics pen to draw the lines with. This object is set to a width of 0 and draws a minimum width line on the graph. After the update, the line is obviously way to wide but ONLY in the vertical axis (which corresponds to the width value.) Note that the graphics subsystem doesn’t allow a height to be set for the pen.
By changing the code to set the value to 0.000000001 instead of simply 0 the graphics are drawn correctly again.
How do we fix this?
• There’s a chance that Microsoft will correct this issue with their next monthly update.
• You can manually un-install KB5006670. This option is NOT recommended. KB5006670 includes updates to protect against a zero day vulnerability that is actively being exploited in the wild.
• Release a new version of IAS v5 that fixes the issue.
Note that I’m working on new models and hoped to release a new version with built in models soon. Or, I can release a new version immediately without the new models.
