It's very strange to sit in an empty theatre with flown AND ground stacked subs, either side of the stage and have individual control of the four locations and discover that you thinkyou can hear the bass localised to the four points, until you kill the system leaving only the subs and discover you can't. You hear the harmonics of the sub bass sources and it's them that give your ears/brain the clue. do it without the main system and it's impossible to close your eyes and point. I guess the people who write the riders are convinced they can hear bass location - because maybe the kick has a click, or the bass guitar is played with a pick or the nails.
