Yamaha dzr-315 hpf slope - Yamaha is clueless so far...
« on: September 16, 2021, 12:46:35 PM »

So far, I have struck out with Yam customer service, who passed to buck onto repair, who say they need to email the designer but doubt the designer will email back...  such are that vagaries of dealing with a MegaLith like Yamaha I guess...

Anyone have a good idea as to what the slope is ?

LR24 is commonly used, so if I had to guess, it'd be that.
However, if you're asking the question, that suggests you're hoping to align them to some subwoofers. In that case, I'd reach for a measurement mic.

If you'd like a getting started guide on acoustic measurements, let me know.

@Mark Wilkinson - awesome!  Thank you.

@Chris Grimshaw...  yes indeed.  1 DZR 315 over 2 QSC 181 or over 2 EAW LA400

Have a buddy with a Smaart rig and I have a spare Venue 360 so we'll be dialing.  In the meantime I was super curious.

Mal,

If you want to put together your own measurement setup for aligning subwoofers etc, it'll likely cost you less than $100. Assuming, of course, you have a laptop running Windows, mic stand, and some XLR.

Set off with a Behringer UMC202HD and a cheap measurement mic, download REW and you'll be aligning things in no time.

I can probably get there using one of my UI-24r mixers as they support 32x32 over USB unless REW requires that specific interface.  I have a pair of the Behringer reference mics.  They are actually pretty decent mics.  I've used them for chorale, taiko amd ohd's.  OHD...  not my first choice.

I'm actually going to overhead mic some monks in a tent this weekend.  Helping out with a buhddist 'pah bah'.  We'll see how that goes....

I looked all through the reference manual (for the second time).  Still didn't find the slope.  It is reasonably dense though and maybe I am too and jus missed it  ;-)

In the specs previously linked the slope is specified as LR24.
