Anyone know what the connection between Sound Productions and Showco might be?

These days?  None.

Showco was purchased by Clair Bros in 2000, and fully assimilated (the Showco name went away) in 2008.

If I recall correctly they used to sell a lot of Showco's used gear. Probably over 20 years ago I bought a bunch of Crown MA amps from Sound Productions that were from Showco.
