I did a couple of years ago and its pretty good but I found the learning curve MUCH steeper then Luminair. I suppose it was just easier to stick with what I knew and what I knew worked! I remember calling Vibrio customer service to ask a few questions and the guy was really helpful.

In fact I still have the app on my iPad.

I use Vibrio just the way you described.  I built a series of scenes, some for wash and some for front lighting.   I let it loop through them and never touch it while our band is playing.  Does just what I need.  It keeps your iPad from going to sleep while it’s in the foreground.  Unfortunately it needs to be in the foreground to run, so it practically requires a dedicated iPad.  You can try it out with a limit of 16 channels which is probably enough to know if you want to pay for more.

I can tell you the Debbie did a great job with her busking scenes and they look great, I can't imagine what she is using won't get you to where you need to be.
