Two Honda Eu7000's

Hey everyone I'm a new member but have been a long time lurker for the past year or so. I'm sorry if this post is in the wrong section, please move it if so. A friend and I have put together a small sound system to host local EDM shows in our town. We plan on having an event outdoors here soon and we have access to two honda EU7000's. I personally own one and we tried testing everything on one last week and It did okay at low levels but noticed right away that it was spiking too much for just one generator with our setup. The setup:

4x JBL SRX828 SP Subs: AC Power Consumption (120V~): 2.2A (1/8th Power), 5.6A (1/3rd Power)

2x QSC KW122 Tops: AC Power Consumption 1/8 Power 100 VAC, 2.3 A • 120 VAC, 2.01 A • 230 VAC, 1.13 A

2x QSC CP8 Booth Monitors: AC Power Consumption 1/8th Power: 100 VAC, 0.75A -240VAC 0.31A

Pioneer XDJ-XZ Decks: Power Consumption 55W

All plugging into a Midas MR12 Digital Mixer: Power Consumption 30W

Running all of this off of one Honda EU7000 was okay at mid levels and the subs set at 0 db. As soon as we slowly turned it up we were watching the VA Reader on the generator go from 800 to around 5000. We turned it back down and quickly realized we didn't have enough power for this whole setup. We previously ran 4 Turbosound Nuq18b's with the same QSC setup and deck/mixer combo and had no problems with it running off of the 7000 so we figured we might as well see if it could handle our new subs. Unfortunately not, and I've done some research online and around these forums and everywhere I'd read advices against running two generators on one system. We have two Honda Eu7000's available to run all of this off of, is it advisable at all? Is there a safe way to properly do it? We have 10g cords to run from the generator to the subs, and can also run each sub on it's own cord. Should we try to split the system up right down the middle so the generators are pulling equal loads? We have an isolation transformer box, would that be helpful with running two generators? Do the generators need to be grounded to an earth rod? I've read conflicting information online about this with the 7000. I wish we could rent a bigger generator for the job but at this moment it just doesn't look like an option. Is it safe for me to run all of this off of two Honda Eu7000's?

Huh,  I've run a couple of House music DJ events off my Yammie EF6300 with it at 30% draw (43 amps available).
4 TH118, 2 SM80, DNA20k4, 2 Yamaha dxr15 and dxs15 for mons.(DNA running 240v)
Not EDM, but not working hard at all.

Steve-White:
One EU7000 should handle the load.  You tried it with one, have you tried the other EU7000?  I would do that to ensure both generators respond the same.

Then make changes if necessary.  Splitting the system between two generators will work fine.  Just be sure the chassis ground on both generators are well bonded electrically to one another.

Proper earth ground is recommended.

These "electrical appliance" ratings are no help at all when sizing generators for audio equipment, as you have seen first hand but probably didn't understand you have to cover the peak demand from the equipment which means the rated amplifier power +10-15% because no amplifier is 100% efficient, class D amps are close however at 90% or so.

Probably only 4-5kw of audio there no suprise it worked.

Honda has parallel wiring kits for doing just this.

That is a good idea, I'd also suggest you use power distro cords that utilize the L14-30 240v outlet on the generators. By my count you have 8000w in subs alone which will get pushed for all they are worth, plus 1200w for the KWs and maybe a few hundred watts for the DJ monitors and kit, that should split up nicely into a pair of ~5kw(peak) loads on each generator.

I think the kit is only for the 2000 and 3000.
