On-Stage DB2150 USB DI
« on: May 15, 2021, 05:02:25 PM »

I'd like to get a few USB DI's.  I really like the Radial USB Pro DI, but I don't want to spend $230.  I then saw the On-Stage DB2150 USB DI and it looks like it would be okay.  Does anyone here have any personal experience with this unit?

Thanks,
Tom

Never used the On Stage USB Di but the Peavey USB-P for about $50 is hard to beat.

The On Stage has some nice features but the USB-P works very well for half the price.
Also, I'm very curious about this statement in their description "custom-wound resistors isolate and eliminate ground loops."
Custom wound resistors?? Riiiiiight.... ???

I've heard good things about the Peavey USB-P.  Unfortunately, due to the "Peavey" name, I can't use the product.  It may not make any sense, but the optics are such I'd never live it down.

Put a sticker over the logo.  I doubt if anyone needing a USB DI is going to question the brand.

My colleges and co-workers certainly will!

Now... back to my question.  Does anyone here have any personal experience with the On-Stage DB2150 USB DI?

In all fairness in the world of audio electronics On Stage is not exactly the first brand name that most people think of.

Correct.  If a Radial DI fails (huge IF) - everyone will write it off as a crazy rare anomaly.  If an On Stage DI fails (small IF) - you'll have some serious explaining to do.

If it were my money?  Radial and never look back.

Whirlwind's pcUSB is a bit less than the Radial unit.

I was going to mention the Whirlwind as well if you want something with a name on it.

As for the Peavey's, I know of about half dozen in use ranging from a DJ, church's and a local radio station.
