"Avocado in 15 languages".  That is impressive, but the author DISPARAGED ALL OF CANADA by declaring the pronunciation in "Canadian" as "eh-vocado". 

Now what?

It's just like Scott Helmke says:

I might have to start saying "eh-vocado", though, because apparently I've been pronouncing it wrong all these years. Now I'm not sure, though: when you mix it up with tomatoes and onions, the resulting dip is pronounced like "whack-a-mole", right?

Interesting... I grew up in Michigan watching Canadian TV, and I like to pronounce it "Goo-ah-camo-lee".

In a previous century I worked for a U.S. band that played Canada several times and were featured on various Molson-sponsored concert broadcasts.  I was never able to acquire a taste for their beers, one of the few things the band had in abundance...

I've fond memories of playing in Canada before mad cows and plywood made international relations things difficult.  Can't we just get some bovine anger management going on?

Tim, the "people" are fine, it's the politicians that are creating all the "difficult" as usual.
Just try French/English here in Montreal..........

"Franglais" actually, French takes priority... 
No, what I was getting at is the various French and English on my street and region get along just fine. It is the Politicians that say there is a problem.
2 months ago the Provincial gubermint put 10 mil into the "Language Police"
In the middle of a Pandemic, restaurants closed, entertainment dead, hospitals overloaded.
I know quite a few places that could REALLY use that kind of cash....
