Thanks for all the great replies!

Had not considered a rubber plug - will look around for something like that at the box stores.  I did consider replacing it with some ply, but my skills with precision cuts is terrible.  A plug would be quick and easy.

Tin cover plates for lamp fixtures... this sounds interesting.  Could be the way I go depending on my rubber plug/stopper search.

Thanks!

RCF used to sell the S series passive installation subs with a blank steel plate over the pole mount hole. There may be a few of those floating around. I have some plywood covers from Tannoy cabs but dont know if the diameter or holes would match up. If you just want to plug the pole cup you have you could go to an auto parts store and look for a metal soft plug that would fit the diameter.

Plugging off what's there may be the best idea.  They could be glued in place and may be a chore to remove.  Probably not worth messing with trying to remove them.

Good idea for the auto-parts store; there's a few next to me I'll check.  If they have something that works, I'll need to find something that fits a JBL PRX as well.

Get some aluminum/metal sheet. Cut some circles, drill some holes. A bit of RTV and paint, and away you go.
Try a body shop for some "scraps"
Chris.

Ya, Whatever. Just throw a '57 on it, and get off my stage.

Another vote for some type of plug or spray foam.

I bought a pair of subs once where the owner had meticulously removed the pole cup, replaced with ply, sealed and repainted the top of the sub so it looked like it was never there.
Then I bought the subs, needed a pole cup....and I cursed him as I re-drilled a hole and mounted new cups.

These fit well and look nice. You have to buy a bunch, but they are cheap:

Exactly... I'm just needing to temporarily "disable" them, not remove them.

Good option.  Seems that I have seen these at hardware stores.

Take the grill off,  turn it upside down, put the grill back on.
