Hi Scott,

Wondering if you had a chance to test this out? I'm in the market and curious if you have any thoughts.

Thanks,

Brian

I agree. DD-WRT is pretty long in the tooth now, but years ago when it was either "throw these in the garbage or install a different UI", DD-WRT was a good solution. Plus I had it on my venerable WRT-54 devices.
Nowadays, likely OpenWRT might be a better choice for something that has a bit more future.
As usual, these sort of operations are not for the feint-of-heart, but I really had nothing to lose when I did the update. It was that or throw them in the garbage.

Now, they're a joy to configure and use. And the range? Unstoppable!

Andrew,
Did you have to "Activate" DD-WRT on your Ubiquiti?   I have been using it forever on personal stuff, and now when i got it on my Bullet I see the activation prompts.

I think so. Its been a while, but I do know that some builds are paid rather than free.

How’d this work out for you? I’m in the market for a new show AP.

One question, Can it be powered from a POE switch or do I have to use their injector?
