Solution for broken connector on T-Bar stand
« on: February 18, 2021, 02:57:57 PM »

Unsure if this is the best place to post/ask this question:

I've used 2 Odyssey LTP2-T-Bars that have lasted me 9+ years of gigging.  I finally had a plastic piece crack and was wondering if there are any ideas for a solution?  I've heard that Odyssey customer service is awful and won't help out with replacment parts.

In the above link, I need to replace part: MT-0036, the lower tension connector.  It cracked and I cannot sercure the bottom pole.  Thanks in advance!

www.fullcompass.com sells this stand. They have an excellent parts department so I would contact them to see if they can help.

One thing to be aware of is plastic breaks down over time.  You may be able to get the part now, but if all of the other plastics are the same age, they may start to fail on you in short order as well.

Considering that you can pick up the WHOLE stand brand new for under $70, it may be more economical in the long run just to buy a replacement and keep the broken one as a source of parts.

Now, that being said, parts on stands aren't necessarily brand specific.  You can just replace the part with a generic one.  Measure the dimensions of the pole to see what size clamp you would need.  I found a couple on PlanetDJ for under $10 plus shipping.
