Too young, too soon.

I'm so old, when I was doing FOH for Tommy Dorsey, to balance out the horn section I would slide their chairs downstage and upstage to mix!

Jerry Granelli, a musician who many of you probably never heard of, but almost certainly have heard, died Tuesday in Halifax, NS.  He played drums with the Vince Guaraldi Trio when they recorded what became the soundtrack for A Charlie Brown Christmas in 1965.  Jerry was ambivalent about the recording for most of his life, partly because despite its success, he made less than $100 for the session.  But his attitude softened later in life, and he took the show on the road for several Christmas seasons.  I shot the accompanying photo on a concert that we recorded and shot video of, in my previous career, back in 2014.
