Grohl's talent level is off the charts as is his appreciation for the work of others and music in general.  Couple of nice choices to pay homage to.

SM7 sounds great too.  I always like Grohl's work in the Foo Fighters and he locked me in for life when inviting JP & JPJ on stage at Wembly to rip a couple of Zeppelin classics with the Foo Fighters - had his drummer step out front on vocals and Grohl beat the skins.

Yep, that's a HS-60 alright, the "home" version of the venerable Juno 106.
