When I was growing up there was a dear friend of our family who, while being an accomplished and conscientious person professionally (hematologist, chief of staff Palo Alto VA, faculty Stanford Medical School), often took a somewhat perfunctory approach to matters of everyday life. His method of making a Thanksgiving turkey was to buy a frozen turkey, stand it up in the sink, and dump a box of (Safeway?) dry stuffing mix into it. He subsequently put it in a brown paper bag, stapled the bag shut with an office stapler, and put the whole shebang in the oven at a low temperature for a very long time. Unsurprisingly, this resulted in a very well done slurry of turkey flesh, bones, and stuffing sliding out of the bag onto the platter. And he did this every year. Some things you never forget.

Wow - that first 'cup of tea' must have tasted like a luke warm watery milky nasty mess.
We still enjoy our British cups of tea and I use a very old teapot I've had for years along with my tea cozy to keep it warm. I have always had an electric kettle in my kitchen which comes in handy for so many things other than making tea. My US friends who visit my home LOVE my kettle and invariably end up purchasing one for themselves - Most have also started drinking tea the British way....

However, Americans know best how to make coffee!!

I'll have to question that statement as I'm enjoying my caffe coretto right now. That's espresso with a wee bit of Brandy or Grappa. I don't like drip coffee and when I go to a coffee shop, I usually order Earl Grey tea.
