Understood and points very well taken.  The download is Windows based so I have to use another laptop to install and view. I use a Mac for everything these days.

Install a virtual machine on your Mac with windows.

Yes. This has greatly helped!  Lifts and proper amplification are expensive.  I am going to do what Tim suggested at the very least just to learn a few things.

Good deal Rufus! This thread quickly morphed into a wise sound BUSINESS roundtable, from you initial question focused on only on sound. Hats off to all who participated. I feel richer for the experience, and you should feel richer too Rufus...

Rufus, yes the KF730 is an old system.
Yes it is heavy and do not have a very good rigging.
But, even today with the Guness Focussing it does sound good no mater what some people say.
I would take it instead of a horrible sounding modern box like RCF HDL20 any day.

For it's relatively few shortcomings, I'd also take a KF730 over most any plastic PA.  Especially if I'm mixing monitors behind and beneath them...

Install a virtual machine on your Mac with windows.

It is impossible to be functional in the pro audio arena without being able to run Windows.

Agree 100%. There are too many crummy mid-level boxes out there. Many are built with all the right visual cues, but sorely lack actual performance.

Just another thought.

Maybe buy the gear (assuming it is all in decent working condition), then sell it, and use the money to get what you really want/need.

I would not buy anything pro audio in the present market with the thought of reselling it.  There is no telling when and how fast (slow) things will start to return to normal.
